about

All of these pieces are in the key of C (I think). Anyway, only the white keys, so that as often as possible, given how little skill I have,
I could play with my eyes closed. When I’m playing, I have no idea what will happen next. I just move my fingers and see what comes. It’s a trust fall, solo: flying blind.

My basic approach remained the same on this batch of improvisations as the others since my 20-year accidental pause in music-making: try to have no thoughts, no preconceptions, pick an instrument, start playing, then play over that with something else, if needed; fuss with the knobs a bit, and that's about it.

But on this one, I made the slightly conscious effort on at least a couple of these tracks to be a little more "structured" and "ambitious". I guess the result is it's a bit less ambient and slightly less minimalist.

Thank you to John, Tariq, and Jess for listening and providing regular confidence infusions that these sounds were worth making and sharing.
